Our State-of-the-Art equipment includes:

·                 A Rodenstock Autorefractor - This gives a preliminary measurement of your focussing in a fraction of a second. It takes several sets of measurements then averages them.

 

·                 A Canon Non-contact tonometer - This measures the pressure of the fluid in the inside of the eyeball. It does this by blowing a puff of air onto your eye. No, since you ask, it doesn't hurt. (But it may make you jump!)

 

·                 An Interzeag "Octopus" perimeter - This measures your field of view in order to make sure that your peripheral vision is normal.

 

·                 The Rodenstock 500 Software controlled refraction system - This comprises:
1) a computer which links to the autorefractor above, transmitting its results to:
2) a "phoropter head". This is a machine with lenses through which you can look. The lenses can be changed using the computer.
3) Also linked in is the latest Projector Chart. This gives a vast range of 30 charts which can be used to take measurements and perform different tests on your vision.

VDU Eye Screening Services:

·                 Cut the cost in ££s and in employee time!

·                 Does your business use computers?

·                 If so, the law obliges you to arrange for eye examinations for your VDU users, and to supply glasses for VDU use if these need to be different from the worker's own pair.

·                 Our Eye Screening Service is available to handle all the worries of this, and at around half the cost of sending all your employees to a local optician.

·                 We come to your site. We bring a Keystone 2 Vision Screener, a high specification machine, (the same as the police use to assess the vision of their motorway drivers).

·                 Your employees are away from their desks for only five minutes. In that time they have a comprehensive vision assessment on the Keystone 2, which can reveal whether their vision is satisfactory for their needs.

We have a comprehensive leaflet selection, written by Phil Gregg. These cover several types of eye and vision disorder, and give advice on thinner lenses, and choosing multifocal lenses.
